CERTIFICATE III IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE.

QUALIFICATION OVERVIEW

This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification specified within the CHC Community Services Training Package.  However, students are expected to.

  • Apply for a police check before commencing their Work placement.
  • Hold a current Working with Children check.
  • Be aged 18 and over.
  • Participate Pre-training review process and complete LLN Test
  • Have suitable Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills that meets required standards for Certificate III Level Qualification

CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education comprise of total 18 units consisting of:

  • 15 core units
  • 3 elective units

All electives chosen must contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Students are required to undertake 120 hours practical work placement in a early childhood education and care regulated environment. We provide assistance for finding a suitable work placement, however, ultimately responsibility for finding a work placement rests with the student.

Workplace activities are supervised by the work place supervisor. Trainer / Assessor visit workplace to assess the competency of student.

These competencies have been drawn from the nationally endorsed industry training package the Community Services Training Package (CHC). Upon successful completion of the training and assessment, the qualification CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care will be issued within 30 days of completion of the Qualification. A Statement of Attainment will be issued who are not able to complete the qualification but have completed few units. Statement of Attainment is not considered a complete Qualification.

The qualification will be delivered over a period 52 weeks. Students are expected to attend a weekly face to face class for 5/1-2 hours and an average time of 16 hours in a week to successfully complete this qualification on activities including face to face, home study, assessments and practical placement.

After successful completion of this qualification student may opt to undertake the following qualification as further study:

  • CHC50113 – Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • CHC60312 – Advance Diploma Community Sector Management.

You may be eligible for credit transfer if you chose to farther your study.

Student may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) if they possess any formal or informal experience related to Child Care Industry. You will be assessed against the competency by an assessor.

You may eligible for Credit Transfer if you have undertaken formal study previously. To be eligible for credit transfer you need to submit provide original certificates for verification.

Each student enrolling in this course will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. Certification will not be issued until you have a valid USI number.

In few instances students, may be exempt from USI but before availing any exemption please consider as your transcript will not be available on USI System.
